Verité is Off to the (Latino Media) Market!

By Jack Kelly

Did you know that Latinx are the largest and most underrepresent ethnic minority in the U.S.?  The National Association of Latino Independent Producers or NALIP, is a diverse media organization that seeks to inspire, drive, and connect Latinx creators in film, TV, and new media. More than just producers, NALIP works with diverse directors, writers, and performers.

A promising weekend in Hollywood turned into a pivotal moment for Verité’s psychological thriller project Let Me Breathe. Donald, René, and Natalia attended the NALIP Latino Media Market at Dolby Ray Ballroom. The Latino Media Market (LMM for short) is a yearly market within the NALIP Media Summit designed to connect Latinx independent creators with executives, mentors, and potential buyers and help move their projects forward.

While being a thrilling summit all around, it was a unique pleasure to have our psychological thriller project accepted into this year’s market. In nearly 20 back to back meetings in two days, Verité met with influential production companies and financiers for Let Me Breathe, making this a promising summit as we move forward with our feature film.
