Verité Casts High Guardian Spice For Crunchyroll

By Michael Angelo Smith

Verité Entertainment is working with Crunchyroll to cast their first original series, High Guardian Spice!  Crunchyroll’s parent company, Ellation, launched Ellation Studios, a new division devoted to creating original anime-inspired shows for Crunchyroll Originals. Audu Paden, director, and Margaret Dean, current President of Women in Animation and new head of Ellation Studios, reached out to Verité Entertainment to bring SPICE to these High Guardian Spices.

Four young sorcerers, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, and Parsley meet at High Guardian Academy and embark on a journey of self discovery, betrayal, and growth on their way to adulthood! High Guardian Spice is an innovative addition to the anime genre. Trans artist Raye Rodriguez, creator of the series, leads an all-female writing room who tell a story that has been described as funny, warm, adventurous and a little weird.

Verité Entertainment is a champion of diversity and being a part of a beautiful and fun series like High Guardian Spice allows our values to intersect with art. We can’t express how excited we are to be a part of this breakthrough project, premiering in 2019.
